Active wear that’s easy on the eye

“Do they EVER stop?” It’s a question I'm often asked as mum to three young boys who are passively-challenged. Most days you’ll find my trio with a ball in their hands, ‘bouncing’ on the trampoline (which closely resembles roman wrestling) or playing chasey in the backyard.  Even on the coolest of winters days, my boys simply refuse to hibernate; instead turning our living room into an indoor down-ball arena or playing endless games of hide n’ go seek.

Their active lifestyles and love of all sports comes as no surprise, in fact they’re hardwired jocks. Dad played (and excelled) at every sport he tried until pursing a career in professional football at the age of 17. I too (a self confessed tomboy) spent my childhood on ovals and tracks, studied Physical Education and went on to become a Secondary P.E Teacher and Sports Trainer.

With the global trend of Sports Luxe continuing to thrive and cement itself in everyday wardrobes (much to my delight!), it was only a matter of time before this trend trickled down to childrenswear.

Key players in the kids Sports Luxe movement include Cotton On KIDS and Adidas Originals. Cotton On KIDS recently launched their 61 piece Active range featuring colour blocking, basketball inspired mesh tanks and traditional sporting staples. They’ve even creative pint-sized running tights, ideal for the active toddler looking to improve aerodynamics and reduce nappy resistance.

Adidas Originals, the undeniable champs of streetwear, continue to push boundaries with fashion forward active wear from infant to adult. Their recent collaboration with Star Wars and ingenious recreations of iconic pieces, prove time and time again that they deserve their spot on the winners podium.

Update his wardrobe and encourage active living with these game changing inclusions.
